NICHOLAS MEYER
CERAMICS
I enjoyed working with my hands from a very early age and found that ceramics has a wide range of expression possible. I studied at Hawkeye Community College from the spring of 2003 to summer of 2004 when I received my AA. After completion, I transferred to the University of Northern Iowa in the fall of 2004. At UNI I began to really immerse myself in ceramics. During this time I attended workshops from world renowned artists and learned from very knowledgeable professors. In the fall of 2006 I graduated with a BA in studio art with an emphasis in ceramics. In the spring of 2008 I was accepted to the masters program at UNI and graduated in the spring of 2010 with my MA. At this time I was instructing classes and performing duties as a laboratory technician, and did so till 2015 at the Hearst Center for the Arts in Cedar Falls, Iowa. I taught classes at Hawkeye Community College and the Waterloo Center for the Arts for 3 years. Utill I was accepted to the The University of Mississippi as a Master of Fine Arts Canidate in 2015. I continue to stay involved with national ceramics organizations and have begun to instruct workshops and offer my expertise at art shows and for the community.
